NAPTIP to Partner with Nigeria Television Authority in the Fight Against Human Trafficking

The Executive Secretary of NAPTIP, Mrs. Beatrice Jedy-Agba has carried the campaign for strategic alliance with partners to Nigeria Television Authority, NTA.
The advocacy visit to the largest broadcast network in Africa, the NTA is in furtherance of the NAPTIP’s awareness and public enlightenment drive.
Speaking during the visit to NTA Headquarters, NAPTIP boss said that the peculiar nature of our responsibility makes it a huge task and competing demand for government funds warrants collaboration with sister organization like the NTA.

Mrs. Jedy-Agba said the nation war against trafficking is meaningless and of no effect if the intervention framework does not factor in education and public enlightenment to tackle the twin causative issues of ignorance and illiteracy. This according to her can be achieved using government platforms for awareness like Nigeria Television Authority.
She implored the management of NTA to support the campaigns against human trafficking through concession of discounts on charges to anti human trafficking programs and actually airing the jingles at no cost to the agency.
In his response the Acting Director General of NTA, Mr. Musa Mayaki promised that NTA will assist through generous discount and actually develop more programmes in that regard to throw light on the problems of human trafficking in Nigeria. He blamed internal trafficking and child labour on the pervasive elite mentality in the country presntly.
Mr. Mayaki said NTA is a cooperate organization which is alive to its social responsibility including highlighting the dangers of the scourge to the vulnerable amongst us.
